  • Why Your Mind is Like a Swimming Pool
September 7, 2018

Why your mind is like a swimming pool : so as winter finishes, and spring begins, it’s time to clean the pool out. The first thing I notice is that all of the debris from leaves, dust, flies and anything else that gets blown around seems to end up on the surface of my swimming pool.

But that's not where it ended up. It ended up on the bottom of the pool, like a fine level of silt. It's going to need a very good clean of course.

Which leads me to thinking about what happens to the 'stuff' on the surface that we decide not to deal with, and that we let to drop to the bottom. And im not just talking about the swimming pool here am I.

Im talking about the 'stuff' that's going on in your life that you haven't dealt with, have ignored, and allowed that to 'sink to the bottom'.

The thing is, it's still there in your mind, and you're lumbering around with it, sunk to the bottom of your thoughts, and it only resurfaces after another similar event thrashes it up from the bottom to the surface of your mind and into your awareness.

Sometimes, you need to take a good look, and realise what you need to work on to begin to clear that mind, so that you are no longer carting around all this 'stuff' thats been stopping you from achieving what you want out of life.
