Why having more than one web site is needed

Published by Daniel Latto Content Team

Most business owners have been running on the same website for the last decade, often without it even being updated.

For many, it’s still working fine, but in this day and age, it doesn’t do everything it needs to do anymore. So the key is two fold.

  1. update this website
  2. Think about getting another website in addition to the first one !

The second one can be specifically geared towards your target market: people who want to learn more about your buisness, product or service.

And this new web site can have all kinds of great features that weren’t available when you first started out (like videos!), which helps you reach more people than ever before and reach them faster too!

Who is your Target Market?

Your Target market is the group of people who will use your product or service. To find out who your target market is, you need to study the demographics of that group. The more specific you can be about the type of person who will benefit from using your product or service, the better chance you have at reaching them and you can be more direct with the type of content you have on your website, and how you talk to your potential customers.

The most effective way to target any given audience is by creating web pages specifically for them and making sure they know about it through different types of marketing campaigns such as social media posts, e-mail and so on.

What is Content Management?

If you’re like most website owners, you probably have a single web site that houses all of your content. If so, it’s time to rethink your strategy. Content Management (CM) is the process of managing and maintaining the information on a web site. This involves adding new pages, deleting old ones and making sure that everything remains fresh and current.

But in addition, it onvolves driving traffic back to your website constantly.

Social Media/Blog Integration

Social media sites like Facebook and LinkedIn for example, are a great way to get your content in front of your target audience. Blog posts can be linked to, from social media sites, and you can use them as a way to expand on the content you have on your own web site.

If you’re interested in expanding the reach of what’s being said about you by adding some more avenues for people who visit different sites than just yours (and thus not seeing it), then having more than one web site may benefit you, plus it will have you get found easier ont he search engines. Lets talk about that …

SEO/Web Site Visibility

SEO, or Search Engine Optimisation, is a process of improving a website’s visibility in search engines. SEO typically involves “on-page” and “off-page” factors: on-page refers to the content on your website while off-page refers to things like link building and social media marketing – Google loves Social Media Marketing as it’s looking at how many people go from say Facebook back to your website.

The goal of SEO is to achieve high rankings for your site in Google (and other search engines, but just focus on Google and the others will follow) that will lead traffic back to your site organically (without paying for ads). This is called ‘organic traffic.

This can take anywhere from a few months to years depending on many factors including the competitiveness of your industry or niche, how long it has been since you started working on SEO efforts, etc.

It’s obvious when you think about it …

  1. To increase your web presence, you need more than one web site.
  2. To increase your web presence and rank higher in search engines, you need to have more than one web site.

You can have a main site and a blog, or each of your products can have their own version of the homepage.

You could also create a separate site for each of your services.

These are very specific, niche made websites for your main keyword or keywords, services or products.

Next Steps

When you’re looking to increase your web presence, it’s important to remember that you can’t do it all on one site. There was a time when we literally owned the first page of Google for our Short Term Lets service (many years ago when I owned a lettings agency)

You can have more than one web site and that will help you to reach different audiences with different needs. By having multiple sites, each one can focus on its own target market while still being connected together through content management systems or social media integration–and this will help your overall SEO as well.
