The Fantastic Four – Traffic Generation Tips

Need more traffic to your website ?

 

Even if you have the best product on the planet, it’s useless if you can’t get potential customers (prospects) to know it exists.

 

So today, I wanted to give you a quick ‘Fanastic Four’ checklist you can use to start driving traffic to your website.

 

But let me just be clear about one B I G Mistake that many business owners make.

 

DO NOT send traffic to your website – send them to an opt-in page.  Getting the email address is half the battle, otherwise all you end up doing is having to drive NEW traffic all the time to your website – rather than people who have already visited it in the past (as these are more likely to buy than a ‘cold prospect’)

 

Ok, so lets take a look at these five ways to drive traffic

 

1. Start Blogging – look, you’re reading this (or watching the video version) – so we definitely know this works !  When we post our blog updates through social media, it DOUBLES the number of people on our website.

 

Blogging allows you to interact with your prospects and begin to grow a relationship – note the word I used there – ‘Relationship’ – people buy from people they like – and the more people you can interact with, the more relationships you will create and the more product you will sell.

 

You can also optmise content on your blog, which basically means that the search engines like it.  When we drew 35,000 visitors a month to my lettings agency website – we did it through content creation (blogs and long tailed keywords embedded in them).

 

So people would end up on our website even when they werent looking for us.  Now, those that WERE looking for what we could offer, could EASILY find us in amongst the noise of our competition.

 

You can easily monetize your blog to start selling your products, or affiliate codes, or whatever it may be you sell – the key is to drive traffic, talk about the product they searched about, and then offer recommendations as to the best ways to use said product.

 

Luckily setting up a blog is quick and easy to do – I personally use WordPress for my blogs and websites – as it so easy to use.  Then I write my blogs, and then create a powerpoint presentation with my voice over – great for Youtube views, as well as now having 2 different types of content (text and video) – finally, I take an MP3 of it and offer it as a download on my website, and potentially as an MP3 on iTunes.

 

2. Create Joint Venture Partnerships – I love the idea of Joint Ventures (or JV’s) as we call them.

 

You can ask other people to write a ‘guest blog’ for your site – what this does is allows them to write good quality content for free, (which has all the benefits of long tail keywords embedded in the blog that can drive traffic to your website), but also means that THEIR database may be directed to it as well, which means yet more traffic.

 

3. Tap into FACEBOOK – I know you already use it, but are you using it correctly and effetively ?

 

Very quickly, here’s what you can do to drive more traffic

 

a) Create a Facebook Fan Page – and get as many Likes as possible to it.  The best way to do this is to offer some free downloadable content available only if they click the ‘LIKE’ button.

 

b) You can buy some Facebook ads to send folks to that Fan Page, and again, they have to click LIKE to get access to the content – a great way of doing it,

 

c) Comment on other fan pages, and begin to create a conversation, be seen as a helpful person with knowledge in your area of expertise – you’ll soon find people Private Messaging (PM’ing) you asking for advice away from the Fan Page.  But please don’t spam the page – but honest, truthful and helpful – you’ll be amazed at the results.

4. Distribute Articles – this has been going on for years – but creating articles and uploading to article directories stil has some relevence even today.

 

Even better than that however, is to write articles for other people’s blogs and be a guest blogger for them.  It’s a really easy way to get attnetion in the market place, and have a firm call to action with some sort of free download to get that free email address, so that you can begin to build that relationship up again.

 

 

So – thats our ‘Fantastic Four’ ways to get more traffic to your website.  Please note once again, that this isn’t just about driving traffic, it’s about creating that relationship, and getting interaction from your website visitors, as well as their email address.
