I’ve just watched ITV news where they talked about the new Tesla 3.
What they said at the end was that they’re relying on this car to make up for losses of $800 million.
Look, if you’re getting your financial information by the media that everybody watches, you’re going to fail.
What the media fails to tell you is that Tesla had sold 130,000 cars as pre-orders whereby people have put down $1,000. If you multiply by $35,000 by the 130,000 pre orders they have, you’ll work out that’s 4.5 BILLION DOLLARS WORTH.
The $800 million ‘losses’ is what we entrepreneurs call an ‘investment’. It’s not rocket science but in order to bring the product to market you have to spend on Research and development.
Not that the ITV news will tell you this. The headline is simply that Tesla are struggling as they made a loss of $800 million.
Not that they had orders of £4.5 Billion.
It annoys me. Lots. It annoys me because most uneducated people would think not to buy a Tesla as they’re about to go bust. They haven’t been told about the 130,000 pre-orders and the huge potential up side. Because the people who write the news don’t understand this pretty simple fact either.
Be careful where you get your news from. Try and read behind the headlines and work it out for yourself.
Otherwise you’re just getting stuff from other peoples filters. And usually they’re in a job to make ends meet.
