SEO Advice That Will Actually Work For You

Search engine optimsation is an Internet marketing technique that makes websites more accessible and noticeable to people who use search engines. By knowing what keywords people use and by attempting to get your page on the first couple pages of a search, you can make your website more noticed and visited. If you want to increase the traffic on a your website by making it more visible on search engines, read the tips in this article and you will have more visitors!

To maximize your search engine optimsation impact, consider your off-site networks. Is your website and/or business widely linked? Are you doing everything you can to take advantage of the power of social networking? If you cannot answer “yes” to either question, consider these ideas an easy way to boost your page views and name.

Using the appropriate keywords in the right places is absolutely vital.

These keywords should be placed in strategic spots where web crawlers take their data from. Examples of places from where web crawlers gather data are the titles, URLs, image names, and page headers. There are many more but this is where you should concentrate the bulk of your efforts.

Give each page on your web site a different title, in order to attract more attention from the search engines. Vary your use of keywords and phrases in the titles. Be sure not to use more than 65 to 70 characters in each title and include the most important words, early in the title such as ” Seo Company Leeds”

Lacking content ? Syndicate articles with RSS.

RSS feeds can be a great way for people to get news from you without having to go to your website. Your article will pop up in their feed and they can read it right away. If your article is good, you can convince them to stop whatever else they may be doing on the internet and head to your site.

It’s not great however and we recommend avoiding this where possible.

Anyone who is new to the world of search engine optimsation should begin using available online research tools to identify the most useful keywords for the particular type of content for which increased visitor traffic is needed. By doing so, it will be possible to learn roughly how often searches are performed using potential combinations of words and phrases, helping narrow list of effective choices for any given topic.

You will want to make sure to add captions with any images that you put on your site.

The captions should be keyword rich so that the spiders will be able to locate them when they are searching your site. The keywords can be used within phrases or by themselves.

Make sure the that SEO services provider you choose will make a site map for your website. Additionally, be sure that they use Google .xml standard formatting. An up-to-date site map in the right format is very helpful in attracting search engine bots and showing them around your site. It is also helpful to human beings who want to know what’s on your site!

Make a Pay Per Click account.

You will have to pay up front for the service, but it will provide you with immediate results in the form of increased visibility to your site. It does this by creating actual search volume for the keywords that you decide on.

Ensure that your call to action is clear, concise, and easy to find.

It’s great to drive thousands of interested customers to your website, but if they can’t figure out where to go to commit to what you’re selling, they can’t buy! You also don’t want to inundate them with links to purchase, but make sure you supply enough so that anyone can figure out what to do.

Work with one of the Best SEO Company Leeds and Expand Your Companies Reach With Video Marketing

Running a business is much different now than it used to be.

Traditional advertising methods, such as television and radio ads, used to be enough to promote your business. However, this isn’t the case anymore. Now, establishing your business online is crucial, and because millions of people watch videos online, it is important that you use videos in your business as well. The below article provides tips on how to use video marketing in your business campaign.

You should not be intimidated by video marketing.

Creating quality videos is easy as long as you have a camera and a good tripod. You can use the recording time to demonstrate your manufacturing process to the audience or sit there and demonstrate a particular product or service.

Remember to be genuine in your videos.

If you make yourself easy to relate to, people will enjoy watching your videos. Be honest and real about who you are and what it is exactly that you are marketing. People will most likely not want to deal with you if you seem like you are hiding something.

In our own SEO Company Leeds we use video to also help us get first page rankings on Google.  On some of our videos, we’re even number one on the Google Search Engine Rankings.

Find a quality video editing software and learn how to use it.

Your videos will be a lot better if you can cut the parts your viewers do not need to see and can smoothly transition from one segment to the next. Keep your videos short, well-structured and do your best to keep your audience interested.

When you create a video for marketing purposes keep it under 2 minutes. You want your target audience to watch the whole message, and if it is too long you will potentially lose audiences as they click off. You can always continue a thought or message in a follow up video if needed.

Try not to stress out if your video is not perfect.

People are more likely to relate to a video that shows real people, rather than a polished ad that reeks of commercialism. Write your content out carefully, then practice saying it over and over. Then, shoot it and post it.

Videos need to be personal to catch the viewer’s attention. Be fun, friendly, calm and confident and your watchers won’t change the channel, so to speak. The more open and honest you are, the better received you will be. Stick to topics you’re truly passionate about as that will come out in your demeanor.

When choosing your SEO Company Leeds don’t worry about it if they ask you to create video – for example in my business, we can even create video for you !

Use a catchy and descriptive title.

In addition to being the first impression potential viewers get of your video, your title can draw internet traffic on its own. Keywords in the title of your video are seen by search engines and can help get your site ranking higher. Make sure your title is short, descriptive, and packs an impact.

If you are planning to use videos to market your business you want to be sure that you use a high quality camera. Thanks to advances in technology people expect to see videos in high definition. If you do not own a high definition camera you should rent or buy one for filming your videos.

You can put up a podcast feed on your site to syndicate your video around the web.

This will get your video out to a much larger audience than just social media or YouTube will. For example, post it on Amazon for the Kindle or iTunes for their devices and see your audience grow.

Your videos should be chock full of information and straight to the point. People on the Internet want to move around quickly. Your best bet is to upload videos that last no longer than five minutes. Otherwise, there is a greater chance that they will not view the entire clip. Even though you might have content that is excellent you need to keep them interested.

Pick a topic for each video.

It will be easier to put together a quality video if you remain focused on a specific topic and keep your video short. Your video marketing campaign will be successful if you create a series of videos on different topics your customers will be interested in. As an SEO Company Leeds we know that adding specific videos for specific topics can really help SEO results.

If you are relatively unknown, you need to promote your video so that others will know it is out there. While SEO tactics should help propel you to the first page of Google, this doesn’t happen overnight. Therefore, it may benefit you to discuss the videos on your blog and social media sites.

When posting a video on your website, surround it with descriptive text so Google knows what the video is about.

You don’t have to provide a transcript, although that can be helpful as well, but you should give at least a short blurb about what the video discusses without giving away the juicy bits.

If your video marketing campaign does not give you great results, do not let yourself get discouraged.

Ask your audience for feedback to produce an improved video. The more you try, the better you’ll get.

If you don’t like being on camera, a voice over may suit you. Perhaps you’re afraid of missing out on sales because your competitors are using video, but you lack the confidence to appear in front of a camera. This option allows you to get your thoughts out there without being onscreen. All you have to do is make a recording of your voice and apply it over video of your product.

To conclude, due to the current technological age, businesses have to be more creative in promoting themselves if they wish to succeed. Video marketing is one of the most popular ways of doing so. You can stand out from the other businesses out there by utilizing these tips on properly implementing online videos.

Business Coaching in Leeds

Throughout the concept of business, there are a variety of things that you can do to provide yourself the extra edge which is the distinction between success and failure. Business coaching programs are a superb way to understand a few of the hidden competencies and strategies that will set your business apart from your competition.

The line between overcoming your competitors and falling behind and ultimately losing sight of business can be a thin line. Any business owner who is serious about what they’re doing will want to know every advantage that they can get access to. In the age of the Internet, you are no longer competing with other businesses within your own local community; you are competing with businesses that could be around the world.

Business Coaching helps uncover fundamentals that may be missing in your business.

For the exact same reason that professional  athletes have a coach; working together with them day in and day out, even though they are already some of the best at what they do, is mainly because there is always going to be something to master, something to develop upon. The same holds true for business owners.

It doesn’t make a difference whether you have already been running your small business for 15 years, 25 years, or even just simply a few months; business coaching strategies can be explicitly designed to help you learn the best techniques to approach your business that will help you create the a lot of profit.

What exactly are usually some of the things you can understand through having a Business Coach?

Understanding leadership skills is  one of the most powerful aspects of being a business owner. Anyone can manage employees, but it takes a specific kind of particular person for you to be a leader. It is the frontrunners that tend to be able to drive companies from average success stories to incredible businesses through the years.

Also, when you take a business coach, you will begin to understand the dynamics associated with promoting and advertising. It doesn’t matter whether your business is online or has a physical presence. Marketing is very important to get the word out there as well as deliver prospective buyers in. If you do not pay enough attention to promoting, then you are going to find it challenging to keep up with the competition due to the fact they are the ones who are going to be advertising.

Through specific business coaching strategies, you will understand about time management and why it is important to not micromanage the folks doing the job for you. You want to be engaged in every business decision and aspect, however you only have so many hours in the day. You cannot take on everything yourself. It doesn’t make any difference exactly what size your business is; there are going to be many aspects that need to be dealt with.

It’s amazing how many professional business owners improve from having a Business Coach – is it about time you took a look too ?

I know how important these are -Thats why I offer an HOUR of my time working through whatever it is that’s stopping you.

But I don’t give these to just anybody – because my time is just as important as yours.

And many people won’t the form in properly, because they want the shortcut route (there isn’t one) to success.

In addition to this, too many people are to afraid to fill something in because it makes their position in life real.  And thats scary as hell.

But some people, recognise that either the pain is greater than filling in this form, or they’ll know that quite soon, if they don’t begin to take the action they need to take, then it’s going to be an even greater painful process at some point in the near future.

We all go through ‘stuff’ – and sometimes, while we’re going through it, its very difficult to see where the opportunities are … and thats because we’re so busy looking out for the obstacles that we fail to see the opportunitues that can carry us through.

Tips for a better Exhibition / Trade Show Stand

Getting the most out of your Trade Show Stand or Exhibition

We’ve all been there haven’t we – hours (days) on your feet, smiling all day at people who don’t want to smile back  at you – and are resistant to going anyway near your trade show stand in case they get “sold to”.

I was at an exhibition last week in Leeds, and I can’t believe how times still haven’t changed, how similar  people run their exhibition stands like we used to 10 or 15 years ago !

So, just how do you get the most out of your exhibition stand?  Well, getting people to the stand is the first part, and this starts way before you actually attend your exhibition.
Mail your existing client based, and entice them to bring a friend – you can offer existing clients a freebie like cake, (everybody likes cake) – ok, so maybe not cake, but its about driving traffic back to your stand. So a well crafted mailer, perhaps as a letter or perhaps as a postcard, inviting your existing clients to come and say hello.

You know what else really helps?  Asking your clients to help you out on your stand!  Why?  Imagine a new prospect coming up to the stand and the person they speak to happens to be, not a member of staff PAID to talk nicely about you, but another customer who is already using your services.

Social Media – ensure you have automated your tweets, Facebook Feed, etc in a countdown to the exhibition.  During the exhibition, you can post images, updates, product info and so on throughout the day. You could find out all of the other attendees, and go to their stand having already discovered their Twitter name, speak to the MD about what they do and tweet that.

Why ?  Imagine going to Bobs Computers on stand 241 and tweeting “Just spoken with Bob at @Bobscomputers  about their new super PC thats coming out great stand Bob – by Dan Latto (stand 113).”

You now get a tweet out to all his followers on Twitter for something that’s relevant.  Even better is that you can ask them to re-tweet you, which gives you further credibility.
I’ve seen lots of fancy stands at Trade Shows, and whilst that’s all very nice, its about what actually happens during the trade show itself that counts.  I’ve seen rubbish stands packed with clients, and i’ve seen excellent stands very quiet.
We went to the Google stand once, and they were offering a £25 voucher for adwords – which I thought was neat.  Only, when we went to claim our voucher, we had to apply for it.

“Great”, we said, “Where do we apply” – well you have to do it online, and the process takes a few weeks.

“WHAT !!” – seriously – the big boys can get it seriously wrong too !
So – now you have a few existing customers turning up, and you have gone around the stands and spoken to them and got some tweets out there – what else.
Well, you’re not allowed to hand out leaflets generally, so one of the best ways of raising your profile I saw was a man dressed in one of those all in one outfits that covers them up completely, like a blue man,

or a green man (er .. you see a lot of these on stag do’s weirdly!) – anyway, if you can tie it up with a
message, for example “Don’t be jealous, join us on stand 113” – for the man dressed in green.
Or “For some blue sky thinking, join us on stand 113 – free cake” for the one in blue.
Or perhaps, for the one in red, you could think up of one for yourself ?
You have to be a bit more careful with this kind of creative thinking – and make sure it doesn’t undermine the brand any, but it could be a fun way to interact.

Another way to do it could be to have the 118 118 man off the advert – get someone dressed like that – and the stand number on the shirt – very effective and stands out.

The other great way of raising a bit of profile is having helium filled balloons over your stand – so that people can see that something exciting is happening over there.
Especially if there is something with a noise.  The event I saw last week had one company banging nails into a block of wood (made hell of a racket) – on one hand, you wondered where the noise was coming from (and what on earth it was) and so you went to investigate.  On the other hand, it became incredibly annoying very quickly !
Ok – so now, you’re raising awareness within the exhibition, they next is what happens on the stand.
So this is what generally happens …
Customer – so what do you do then
Exhibitor – we provide computers for small businesses
Customer – er .. ok – thanks, bye
wouldnt it be better if it went something like this :
Customer – so what do you do then
Exhibitor – we provide help for businesses and their owners – what is it you do?
Customer – I own an accountancy firm
Exhibitor – great – and what have you come for specifically?
Customer – I’ve come to grow my business
Exhibitor – and are you growing right now?  Many of our new clients often say that when they’re growing their business, getting IT Support in place can be a bit of a nightmare, which is why we work with businesses that are growing, and show them how to reduce their costs whilst implementing that growth in a sustainable way – is it worth having a quick chat next week so we can see where we can save you money when you grow?
Look at that as a sentence- there’s a bunch of stuff in there you can use.  Sure it’s a bit of a mouth full, and at first you won’t be very good at saying it, so you need to practice the words coming out of your mouth before you actually say it to anyone.

There is engagement, there is actually taking the time to LISTEN (99% ahead of the game there methinks), you’ve identified where the client is at in their business and what they actually need, and you’re now looking to sell the next part of the relationship, a chat over coffee or a meeting of some kind.

REMEMBER – every step sells the next step – you don’t go for a marriage proposal on the first date, why would you in business – the whole point of a first date is to get a 2nd date, and so on … then 3 years down the line you’re married with kids – exactly how you’re business should work.
So, you’re exhibition stand should be engaging with the client through the use of engaging questions – what about data capture ?
I like to get name, mobile number, email address and company address – this way, I can use a number of marketing channels to further communicate, such as text message, post cards, direct mail, emails, gifts and so on.
So, lets look at what we can do to get their contact information.
Create something you can give out in return for their details.  This could be for example, a Free Social Media Professional Photo taken – in return for their email address (you know, to email the picture to)
Or it could be an application form to receive some free training, or free product.  You could have a professional looking box on the desk that states FREE DRAW, or something similar, and a whole bunch of application forms for people to complete, that way, if your stand is full and no one left to answer queries, at least that person may fill a form it.
I’ve seen some exhibition companies give away free pens and the like in return for the business card.  Lets face it, someone giving you their details IS a transaction of some form, so you need to make it worth their while for them to release their contact information – for me a pen wouldn’t do it – but something like a free Social Media Photograph would – plus it allows some fun interaction with your potential client – i’m sure you remember the “It’s not what you say to your client, but about how you made them feel”.
You could also have seminar sessions on your stand every hour on the hour – this will create influence around the stand, bring in a crowd and make the stand look busy – the more busier it looks, the more people will crowd around to it to “see what they are missing”.
I also believe you should also have a stock of promotion items that you can use as trade show giveaways – these should be branded up.  Im a tight northerner, and always taking pens from trade shows that I used and keep !
You’ve got to make it easy for booth visitors to get information, so you could use signs in your trade show displays to give information about prices, minimum orders, shipping costs, or any other basic information they might need to know, to save them the trouble of having to wait to ask when you’re busy with another potential customer.  In my experience, when we get busy on our exhibition stands, you miss out on potential customers as you’re deep in conversation.  This is where getting people to help you out (like your customers I mentioned before) can really help.
In addition to this – and I’m in danger of repeating myself here – if you do have a busy stand, then you need to limit the time spent with each individual, get their contact details and organise a time to speak properly – this later appointment can be used to qualify your potential client, but it also gives you the opportunity to give them the time they need to resolve their query.
I’m surprised how many times I see a stand and there is no one on it – please man your trade shows at all times!  I know its a daft thing to say, but I do see it quite often, especially when its a small business who has paid lots of money for a stand, and then aren’t there all of the time.
Follow up – quickly.  So – you’ve done a great job, the stand was buzzing, and you’ve got loads of follow ups to do.  I bet you’re left with a huge pile of business cards, and you can’t remember who on earth anybody was.
The first thing I would do, is add them to my email responder and send an email thanking them for their contact details.
Then, I would hit the phones, and make contact with every single person who left me a card, or filled in a form.
Then, I would send them something in the post, like a thankyou postcard (not a brochure or price list), but something to thank them – it could be access to a free video, or something relevant to their business.
So that’s 3 interactions with a potential client already, and you’ve only just started  I know you may say this is very intensive, costly and time consuming, but … you’ve just spent 3 days on a trade show stand.  It’s like buying a nice car and then not putting petrol in it.  You have spent the time and money on the exhibition – now it’s time you got a return on that investment.
There are many, many more things you can do to make sure you get the best ROI on your trade show, but these listed above are a very good start for you the next time you’re considering exhibiting.

About the Author : Daniel Latto is a Business Coach based in Leeds. He runs training courses on SEO and Social Media, along with helping business owners make the most of their business.

Business coaches are a lot similar to personal trainers.

Business Coaches are similar to Personal Trainers.  People turn to them when they need help achieving their goals.

Hard work signifies a lot in business, and it can get business owners fairly close to where they want to be.   Most often, it’s the final  small action toward success that is the most difficult. A coach can help you get  there.

Compare this reasoning to your health and fitness goals. Sure, you’re  reducing the fats and carbohydrates from your diet regime and you’re hitting the  gym three times a week, but you can’t seem to lose those last few  kilos.

A personal trainer will work with you to make sure you maximize your  gym time and perfect your diet. And thats when you get to achieve your greatest fitness  goal.

Just like gym sessions, business-coaching sessions aren’t always easy and they can be a little uncomfortable. And just like a personal trainer, a business coach can only support your business if you’re prepared for change and willing to acknowledge responsibility

The coach’s task is to demonstrate  to you your potential.  People often know whenever something isn’t  correct, but they choose to look past it. A business coach can help you discover  your  problem and drive you to do well because they bring a professional,  outside  perspective, honest feedback and proven strategy to shift you to the next level  of achievement.

Before getting a Small Business Coach, you will find five  important questions to ask:

Can this coach do what he says he can do?
– Talk  with the business coach about his or her skills, and then ask to talk with his  or her clients. Their comments will provide you with a better a feeling of the  coach’s expertise.

Will this coach really do what he says he will do? -Research the coach’s previous clients and look for a track record of  accomplishment.

Is this person someone I would like to work with? – Plan a telephone call  with your future coach to make sure you get along. If you hire him  or her, you’ll have to work together through demanding conversations and  scenarios to build your team and your business.

Does this coach serve my  style? – Find a coach who has experience in your business style. Not necessarily  industry-specific, because often times instruction can vary from business to  business, but more so size specific. Some coaches, like me, focus  on  entrepreneurial businesses while others work with large companies. What  worksfor a small $5-20 million business may not apply to a multi-billion dollarcompany.

Can I afford the time and money required for a private coach? -Prepare to invest in your company’s success. Some coaches charge hourly and cost  between £50 and £500 an hour. (In this industry, you really do get what you pay for).  Others charge monthly and cost between £7,000 and £24,000 a year

The cost varies by the amount of contact you receive.   Some get togethers with your coach may only be an hour long while others  last all day. Some coaches meet month-to-month and others prefer quarterly meetings.   Figure out what works for you before you price it out.

Motivational speaker Anthony Robbins said: “If you do what you’ve always done, you’ll get what you’ve always gotten.”
That statement is especially true when we talk about reaching new heights in your business.   A coach can help you do more  than what you’ve already done, but you must be willing and ready to listen, learn & grow.

3 Reasons Your Website Isn’t Working

Are you making these 3 mistakes ?

Reason 1

You’re web site is ‘static’ – as in, it doesn’t change, and it doesn’t get updated. In 2009, Google release their ‘Caffeine’ update, which meant that content on the internet will be indexed faster, and that websites with frequently updated content would outrank static ones.

Solution : Update your website at least once a day with fresh, new content.

Reason 2

You are not getting inbound Links – in other words, nobody is pointing to your website, or the work you have done in the past (using ‘link farms’ – low quality linking sites) has hurt your websites rankings.  Googles latest update; ‘Penguin’ penalised websites that had a large volume of links from websites that were untrustworthy such as link farms.

Solution : More quality content will mean more people linking to it, in addition, a professional Backlinking strategy should take place.

Reason 3

Your content is old and stale and poorly written – in the past, many people used ‘keyword stuffing’ (putting as many keywords into the article as possible) in order to get rankings for that keyword or phrase, rather than just writing good quality content.

Solution : write good quality content that is relevant to your target audience.

The solution can be as simple as outsourcing it to a UK based company – and thats where we can help – contact us for more information, and let us take the hard work out of your Search Engine Optimisation pains.

Social Media in Business

Social Media is now taking over as a major force on the Internet.

In the past, it was a case of just building some content rich pages, sorting out the keywords and optimising them and getting backlinks.

Now, if you haven’t got the correct mix of all of the above, alongside your Social Media Presence, then your competitors will be taking your business.

Virtually anybody who has a computer and access to the internet has some kind of Social Media Presence, regardless as to whether it’s Facebook, Twitter, Google+, LinkedIn, YouTube, Skype or Instagram or any of the other innumerable social media sites, millions of individuals use most of them and they are mostly all 100 % free.

So, just how Do You Take Advantage Of These Social Media Websites to grow your Business  ?

In the ‘good old days’, you just placed an advert in the Yellow Pages, a very costly advert for many, but you had to do it becausxe thats what your competitors were doing.

Now, it’s just so complicated !

Social Media, if used correctly is much more affordable and can continue to be free, but just because it IS FREE, it doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t be paying for correctly marketing your business through social media.

The wonderful thing about Social Media is that it can be as equally powerful as paid advertising if it’s implemented in the right way.

With all of this in mind, we’ve developed a Social Media Marketing Package that’s cost effective, and allows our team to get your Social Media presence up and running in no time, driving more traffic to your website, and in turn converting more business.

SEO Marketing – is your Business keeping up ?

I’ve never really liked the term ‘SEO Marketing‘, as it doesn’t really describe exactly what SEO MARKETING really is.
For example, it’s not JUST about keywords and backlinks.

It’s a combination of those keywords and backlinks, but a whole lot more too.  Google these days is a ‘contextual’ search engine – so the more content you write about that describes ‘around’ your key words, then the higher up the rankings you go.

Put another way, if you’re business isn’t writing weekly (or daily) blog posts, isnt building links, then your competitors will be taking your business away from you.  I know that sounds time consuming.  It is.  Which is why its getting harder and harder for the average business owner to compete.

Did you know that, 50% of all purchasing decisions begin with the search engine (normally Google), and if you are not prepared to invest in your website that you will be losing that traffic, lead generation and eventually customers.

Now, that 50% of all purchasing decisions that start on the internet, is an increasing figure year by year.

It’s estimated that by 202, more than 75% of ALL purchasing decisions will start with an online search.  Are you ready for that yet ?

All I know is, that if you’re not competing at this level, then your competitors will take the business away from you.
So, the bottom line is, that you have to do some SEO Marketing.  Like anything that is a big task, its better to start now, and start small.  Start with creating content for your website – interesting content means that you can share it, and people will read it and in turn share it.
So – what are the main factors ?
1. Content
2. Frequency of content
3. Quantity of content
4. Titles
5. Meta descriptions
6. Number of links
7. Link naturalization
8. Link diversity
Thats it – easy right ?
If you really struggle on this (and lets face it, for some I may have just been speaking Klingon and you havent a clue what ive been talking about), then you need to speak to us.

How many Coaches do you need for Success?

I’m often asked whether I have my own  coach or not.

Well, the answer is .. YES – of course I have.

Not only that, right at this very point in time, I actually have TWO coaches. My first coach is to help with the business – ensure i’m on track with my goals and targets and doing the actions that will get me there.

The 2nd coach is a Mindset coach, which again makes sure that on a regular basis, im behaving ‘on purpose’ and ensuring any negative beliefs that pop up from time to time (yep – I get them too just like everyone else) – and we we can remove these belief systems that aren’t helping.

So – the only question is .. if you haven’t got a coach yet – why not ?

If you’re performing at a particular level, what are you doing to get onto the next level ?

If you’re response was ‘working harder’ then im afraid to say – you’ll just end up working harder all your life.

Although hard work is a pre-requisite to getting what you want out of life, you have to be setting higher goals and targets – the problem isnt that you’re aiming too high and fail, it’s usually that you are aiming too low and hit them.

Bigger goals and targets often seem unsurmountable, and thats because you havent got the skill sets in place yet to achieve them (and have yet to even identify what skills you may need) – and so you just work harder and harder all the time.

The other side of it is your ‘wealth thermostat’ is probably stuck where it has been for the last few years – unless you resolve this, just working harder will get you pretty much the same results.

So now the question is : What are you going to do differently now?

One of those may be getting a coach that can lead/direct you towards your goals.

Why not set up a strategy call with me, and lets take a look at what this is costing you in your life right now – you’ll be surprised at exactly what its costing, and you probably believe its not that much – when actually, it’s costing you everything.

But you’ll only know if you make that call – if you’re ready to step up in the game of life, pick up the phone, and lets get started.

Call now – and lets get you started with your first Strategy Session – 0113 3147707

Benefits of a Business Coach

A lot of Business Owners can enjoy the benefits of business coaching. The important point is to make certain you are engaging with a Business Coach so that you can identify the bits of your business to work on.

Most people actually have a pretty good business, it’s just the small bits that can be easily fixed once they have identified exactly what they are.

Many business owners for example, have a very low level of knowledge your business coach has in terms of Search Engine Optimisation (SEO), Social Media, growing your email lists and effectively marketing your business will clearly have an effect in the results you get.

It is very important that you decide on a business coach that recognises the sort of advice and support that you need.  Many of my clients start off for example, having no time, not enough customers and can’t make ends meet.

Getting their life back is usually their number two priority, right after actually being able to get enough income to do so !

I tend to find that most of the issues your business face are the same as every other business. You need to understand how to market your business, you need a focus on customer service, and you need to know how to control your costs.

But it’s the actual ‘doing’ of the business that prevents business owners from taking the right action to actually grow their business.

Only this morning did a potential client say “im ok for now because i’m busy thanks” – no doubt will coming knocking again when they’re not so busy, ah – but then can’t afford the coaching.  How many businesses go round this roller coaster eh ?

You can make sure the Business Coach you use has the experience in to understand what the problems your business is facing actually are, and can give you advice that will help you to move your business forward.

I’ve seen Life Coaches try and do business coaching, and whilst on some level they may have a level of success in removing some limiting belief systems you may have, they know nothing about Business Systems Processes, and the largest income they’ve ever earned is the £30k a year from coaching, rather than dealing with hundreds of thousands of pounds of revenues from a ‘proper business’ (yep – controversial or what !)

With a combination of one to one business coaching, peer to peer mastermind group meetings and an online portal of useful content targeted to help business owners, our Business Coaching helps CEOs and Entrepreneurs get different perspectives for their business issues and opportunities, and enables them to grow their business quickly.

How quickly is dependent on how much effort the business owner wants to put in, and how much they listen to outside help of course.

It can be done, and we’ve got the track record to prove it.

Why not email us and see how we can help your business ?

How’s you’re PLAN looking?

Like a lot of business owners, i’m “blessed” with a healthy dose of what some people might call “attention deficit”  – Sometimes, I can’t sit down and just chill – I have to be doing something.

I’ve never really attached such negative connotations to this ability to keep going, this ability to keep on coming up with new ideas, to not sit still, instead, I developed a way to use it  in my businesses.

And the real reason why I’ve been able to get this natural excitement about life, and really, I mean REALLY use it, is because i’ve always had a plan.  A proper plan, you know, like a “proper” grown up would have.

Let me give you an example.  I always knew that I would have a lettings agency.  I always just knew it.  I had planned for it when I got to my 20th property, in fact it was around my 10th property purchased.  This was always part of the plan when I first got into property.

Another example was when I bought my first Porsche 911 Convertible.  Three years prior to buying it I was sat in an office in Bristol having just got a company car.  I was looking to buy the biggest pile of junk of a car for as little money as possible, simply to insure it.

You see, when you have a company car, your “No claims bonus” runs out after 2 years and you go back to zero.  I had a full no claims bonus.

And when a colleague asked me “Dan, why are you buying this piece of shit?”  – my response was “So that when I buy my Porsche in 3 years, I’ll still have my no claims bonus”.

Oh how we laughed … thinking this was just a pipedream …

Pretty much 3 years to that date, and i’d just bought my Porsche  911 Convertible in bright Yellow – and I went to show they guy who I had had this original conversation with.

And he said to me “Do you remember three years ago – almost to the day, and I laughed when you bought that old piece of shit car … because you were going to get a Porsche … and now look at you” … you see, (and this is the important bit) unconsciously, it had always been part of the plan.

And thats how I deal with my attention deficit issues, I have a plan, and I stick to it, and I carry it out, and I don’t give up until I get the result I want.

You see, most people give up when they don’t get the result they want, they try 99 times and give up, yet the 100th time could have been the one they want.

And herein lies the lesson, you have a plan, and you stick with it.  You carry out that plan until you get the results you want – and you don’t stop working the plan until you either reach that goal, or you come up with a better plan.

So, let me recap quickly :

1.  I have a plan

3. I carry out the work according to the plan

It’s pretty simple isn’t it?

But if you only do one of those 3 things, then you’re not going to get the results you want.

Show up without a plan, and you’re just firing ‘hope’ off into the universe.

And if you have a KILLER plan but can’t commit to the dedicated execution of that plan thats needed each and every day, you’ll still not get the results you want.

So, work out the plan, show up, and work that plan until you succeed.

Become The Social Media Marketing Expert With These Must Know Tips

Social media marketing can provide the boost your business needs to bring you the success that you want. There are many benefits to leveraging social media marketing strategies. They allow you to develop more meaningful relationships with customers, communicate with a broad audience quickly, and increase interest in your business through interaction. Follow the advice in this article to make social media marketing work for you.

Look closely at any social marketing companies you may want to hire to expand your presence. Unfortunately, a number of these firms have fraudulent schemes running and they prey on the inexperience of others. The companies utilize thousands of fake twitter, Facebook and YouTube accounts, which they create using proxy servers and automated registration bots. Few real people, if any, will see your spot — even though your hits are up and you pay through the nose to your marketing company.

Use Facebook to get some very low cost marketing opportunities. Make a professional business account or create a business fan page. Take some time to look up your competitors on Facebook to see how much of a presence they have, and what they did to get that. Do not copy what they did, but use their page as an example for what is working or what is not.

Find out where your customers are getting their social fix. You can leave yourself twisting in the wind if you start a social media campaign that reaches none of your target audience. You need to know if your customer base will be reading blogs, are tweeters or perhaps, they Facebook often. Research is the key to maximizing your efforts.

Facebook makes it very easy for your followers to share your content. Comments will appear on that person’s news feed so all of their friends see it. In order to generate greater exposure, facilitate reader interaction with you as well as with each other.

Social Media Shares HELP Your SEO !

Always remember who your audience is in your social media marketing campaigns and what matters the most to them. You need to post content that is applicable to them and focus your efforts in ways that keep their attention. Your posts should be relevant and of high quality that your followers and fans do not just skip them over because they are not interested.

You can measure the success of your social media marketing by the sentiment and number of comments you receive about your posts. You need to pay attention to the comments because your followers will tell you if you are posting relevant information. If they are mostly positive, then keep up the good work. If they are negative, try tweaking your posts for a more positive sentiment.

Hosting a photography contest relevant to your branding is an opportunity to engage your subscribers of social media. Have your followers submit photos including your brand for a prize for the most creative. This will help expand your business through your followers sharing these photos with their own followers, exposing you to new markets.

Mix it up a little

To get a leg up on the social media marketing of competitors, embrace all forms of social media. Many companies assume that social media has matured and think they only need presence on Facebook, Twitter and YouTube to cover their bases. Savvy social media marketers remember that MySpace is still out there. Use it plus rising newcomers like LinkedIn, SlideShare and Google+ to expose yourself where other players are not.

When creating Facebook content or tweet content on Twitter, make sure to proofread it prior to submission. All your work will need to have a professional appearance. Though some Twitter abbreviations are fine, remain cautious when using them. Go out of your way to publish content that reflects well on your business.

SEO Leeds & Website Design Leeds

SEO Leeds & Website Design Leeds

Make sure that your business’ social media content is fun, interactive, and interesting to read. People who engage in social media sites want to feel compelled to share information that they find. If they share your information, it is to your company’s advantage. This is a great way to find new customers and keep the old ones coming back for more.

Keep content fresh

Create a blog for your business with links to your other social media identities. If you have a blog that is continually being updated with new and interesting content, you will attract repeat visitors. Including links to Facebook and Twitter will make it easier for potential customers to follow you, and you will maintain a presence in their computerized world.

Fill out as much information as you can about your company on your Facebook page. Don’t make it feel impersonal; put that little extra effort and write a small bio and upload a company logo and pictures from your company that pertain to meetings, parties, promotions etc. Help future customers understand what your company is all about so that it doesn’t seem to be just a logo on the web.

When you make blog posts on behalf of your firm, be sure to include visuals. People do not want to look at a huge block of text. Images, art work, graphs or even videos are a great text breaker. Don’t do too much, but make a nice balance of text and graphics.

SEO Leeds

Ask people to “LIKE” your Facebook page everywhere. Ask on your Facebook page, on your website, in any advertising, and in your brick and mortar stores. The more individuals “LIKE” your page, the more they will spread information about your brand. This is a great way to increase business as well as your SEO rankings.

While social media marketing may be a simple concept in general, you still need to learn the complex statistical viewpoints and vocabulary. Many traditional SEO methods will apply, such as evaluation the ROI, placing meta-tags, and determining your publications influence. These may take longer to grasp than the general outline, but they are essential to creating a continually profiting business online.

There are a lot of important reasons why your business should use social media marketing.

There are also various social media marketing strategies available. Start incorporating the advice in this article today to find out which strategies are most effective for you. If your business already has a social media marketing campaign, use this advice to make it better!

Further Reading Bring Business Up A Notch With Better SEO Leeds Skills Now

Many people don’t know where to begin when trying to optimize their website for search engines, and without knowing the factors valued by search engine algorithms, you could end up wasting a lot of resources. This ‘further reading’ contains some tips to help make your search engine optimization (SEO) campaign successful.

SEO Leeds

When setting up your site for SEO in English, make use of synonyms for your target keyword.

Search engines in English are generally smart enough to recognize synonyms and will place more weight on your page if you have more instances of the keyword, while you avoid the detracting effect of keyword stuffing.

Advertising is sometimes a good choice, but do not count on it to improve your SEO. While advertising elsewhere drives traffic to your site and increasing income, it doesn’t boost your rankings.

Although there are many search engines out there, you should focus on the big one and leave the rest alone, to start. Googleis the big boy on the block, and Google controls the lion’s share of the market. So when optimizing your site, stick to the types of things a search engine like Google appreciates. There’s no sense in optimizing for Ask or MSN, when there’s really no money there.

The most important thing to do is learn about what search engine optimization does and why it works.

There are several forms of media that can assist you with learning about search engine optimization. Spend a few days learning about it and taking notes, and you will understand why it is important. Then make the necessary changes to your blog or site.

Hopefully the tips above have given you some SEO techniques that you can implement immediately to get your website a higher search engine results page (SERP) rank. Or, perhaps the tips have helped you to decide that SEO is not for you and that you need to hire a professional SEO company instead.

By getting involved with social media, your company can drastically grow its potential customer base. You are able to dictate what your customers and potential customers see about your business, and you can quickly communicate with them. Promotions for marketing are easy to get out and about through social media.

Reach out to as many people as possible while developing and implementing your social media marketing strategy. While not everyone may be directly interested in what your company has to offer, it helps to get your name out there. This also allows them to refer others to your company.

One of our example Video SEO Leeds

Heres an example we created for a client – this was a ‘pattern interrupt’ video

Use Facebook to get some very low cost marketing opportunities. Make a professional business account or create a business fan page. Take some time to look up your competitors on Facebook to see how much of a presence they have, and what they did to get that. Do not copy what they did, but use their page as an example for what is working or what is not.

Determine if you really want to establish a relationship with customers. Keep your advertising simple when you want to boost sales through social media marketing. If you want to get on a level with your customers that requires back and forth, start off simple and just say “Hello.” The customers and followers should help lead the conversations from that point.

Search Engine Optimisation Leeds SEO

This one is for our search engine optimisation work we do for Leeds Seo

Be sure that your content is interesting and unique, so that other social media users will want to share it with others. People succeed by using social media, but only if their content sticks out from others. If you are out of ideas, you can always find inspiration online or from family and friends.

Try adding pictures to your social media site. People get a better understanding of a product when they can literally see it. And, when people understand your product, they are more likely to purchase it. You do not need to have too many pictures, just a few should do the job.

If you’d like to get more followers on your social media profiles, don’t just use them to sell products.

Try posting links or stories from outside providers that are relative to your niche or industry. Run contests, post pictures and ask questions. You need to have high engagement with your followers. Seek product or service engagement rather than product placement. See if you can get customers to associate your brand with their personal identity and lifestyle, instead of their wallet.

Post links to other blog posts and have bloggers feature your content on their website. This will work if you return the favor and if bloggers see your blog as a good way to get publicity. Make sure there is no conflict of interest between you and the blogger who is going to feature you.

Social Media Marketing Leeds

And this video was to showcase some of our social media marketing in Leeds that we do.

There are many positive advantages to a presence for your business on popular social media websites, including the all important concept of brand recognition. This will help customers recognize your company, and give it a long lasting reputation.

6 Simple Steps towards your Social Media Marketing Strategy

1.  Listen and Learn : go out online and listen to what people are saying, are they asking questions about your industry, are they confused as to how it works, can you help educate people on best practices in your industry, how to keep the motivation going, better marketing strategies, and so on.  What exactly is it that people need help with.

2. Set out your Goals and Objectives : Now that you’ve had a chance to listen, you need to identify your goals and objectives – is it to drive traffic to your website, direct them to a form to segment your customers, or is it to call you and take instant action?

Your sales process needs to be fully in place and UNDERSTOOD – so that you can direct people into your sales funnel, whatever that may look like. TIP : DRAW your sales funnel out on a piece of paper so that you can see the path your customers are to take to get them from point a (Enquiry) to point B (the Sale)

3. Work out what content and when, and plan it’s timely release : This is where you develop a timeline as to what message is being released and when. Work out how your content will be delivered (is it articles, videos, slideshare, etc)

4. Develop your content : This is where you do your writing and create the content that will be ready for release on the dates you said it would in step 3.  This is quite time intensive, so if you can outsource some of this work, then that leaves you with more time to work on your business.

5. Lock and Load – Engage : This is where you now organise the timely release of the content that you have created.  This should now become an automated process so that you don’t need to do things every day, other than check for any engagement from potential clients.

6. Record & Measure : Now that your content has been released, how are you measuring the return on investment (time and money) ?  It could be the extra number of sales, or it could be the number of web form sign ups you have received, or the number of video views.

The Four Pillars of Content Marketing to drive more traffic and customers to your Business

We all want more qualified traffic to our website, and there are four different ways of doing so …

 1. Education : Your customers are an evolving bunch of (usually) highly educated consumers of your product. And they want to understand better, either you do it or your competitors do it, it’s your choice.  This is why Content Marketing is so important.

Lets look at the different ways in which you can educate your client base :

  • Ebooks
  • Press releases
  • Articles
  • Infographics
  • Guides
  • Whitepapers
  • Trend reporting

2. Entertainment : Your customers also get bored easy in this world of ‘short attention span’ – for example most website visitors stay for LESS THAN 7 SECONDS.  So you have to grab them, and either educate them or entertain them (or both!)  There are many ways to entertain your website visitors, so lets take a brief look

  • Branded Videos
  • Virals including videos
  • Competitions
  • Games
  • Quizzes
  • Well written funny articles

3. Convince them : Your marketing should also contain an element of convincing about your product, brand and service.  People want to know if your’e credible, and they want to know if others have had success using your product or service.  So here you get to provide them with a number of different ‘convincers’, lets take a look :

  • Product Features along with benefits
  • Data sheet and product / competitor comparison guides
  • Interactive Demonstrations
  • Webinars
  • Case Studies
  • Testimonials / Reviews
  • Product Ratings
  • Live Events

4. Inspire : Your customers want to be motivated to use your product or service, and by that we mean ‘inspire’. You’ll notice that some of these also cross over from the Convincers we talked about.  People want to hear about how the persons life is now different because they used your product or service.  and that can come down to :

  • Customer Reviews including before and after shots if applicable
  • Celebrity Endorsements
  • Community forums
  • Video testimonials

What SEO isn’t

The key to getting to the top of the search engines is consistency.  Doing the right thing on a regular basis.

Success then, is a habit, I can’t remember who said it first – Napolean Hill perhaps – but it’s true – doing the right things on a regular basis will provide the little baby steps that will carry you in the right direction.

SO the question is, what are the right steps to get your website SEO’d and to the top of the search engine rankings.

Well, first, let me tell you what SEO isn’t.

It’s not spamming backlinks, hundreds and hundreds of them all over the place.  This will actually end up hurting your website, as Google knows what you’re up to. Our friends at Google are very clever of course, and they’ve been around quite some time in the history of search engines – and lets face it, they have a lot of money to throw around to pay for people to think about this stuff.

Let me tell you what else it isn’t.  It;s not keyword stuffing as many keywords onto a page, in the title tags and so on – its a very, very bad thing to be doing, and again it wont help you.

Google likes new, fresh content, that makes sense to people as well as search engines.

Actually, this is the stuff you need to be creating to get to the top of Google, lots of regular fresh content that’s keyword rich, and has a meaning for your target audience.

Google is in the business of providing RELEVANT information for it’s search users – and if your content is RELEVANT then its not going to get listed for your keywords.

Yes, I know content creation takes a long time to implement, and lets face it, if you have ever outsourced it to an overseas company, what you get back isn’t exactly brilliant is it !

We’ve been there too, and what we realised was that if we wanted good quality content, it had to be written by someone in the UK, not Outer Mongolia, regardless as to how cheap it is.

“Buy it cheap, buy it twice” was a saying one of my old bosses used to say.

So lets assume you now have regular fresh content, what do you do with it.

well, there are a couple of things first of all.

1. upload it to your website : Google loves fresh new content, and the more fresh new content you create (lets assume one article a day shall we) then the more Google will pop by and check to see if you have new content.

This means that the spiders/robots jump on your website and interogate it, and when they do that they add any new content to their database, including working out what the keywords for that article actually are.

So that the next time a person searches for something thats RELEVENT (that word again) – it might, just might put your fresh new content at the top of the search results.  Wouldnt that be nice.

2. Create a video out of it : We create a number of videos these days, and we upload them to YouTube and we get them ranked for our keywords.  We’re pretty good at it (If you’re watching this on YouTube – then you’ve proven the point!)

Not everyone wants to sit and read what you create – some folks would prefer to just jump on Youtube and watch the content being presented.

3. Create an MP3 out of it : If you’ve got the video, then extracting the MP3 is a simple process, and now people can listen to you in the car, on the road, on the traing or bus, or even on a plane.

4. Create a .PDF out of it : Creating your content into a .pdf and then asking people to stick it on their website as a free download is a great idea – this does a number of things.
Firstly, it gets your links to your website embedded in the .pdf and then hosted on someone else’s site – this is a backlink in the eyes of Google – and it likes it.  Also, the link is surrounded by your keywords (or anchor text as we call them).

The other thing this does of course is it provides you with an opportunity to get found by new customers, on someone elses website.  Is that cool or what?  I must admit, the more I think about it, the more I think we should be doing MORE .pdf’s ourselves (Whoever said all coach was self-coaching was spot on by the way!)

5. Ask your contacts if they would like fresh new content for their Email Newsletters : Many people create email newsletters these days (you do too right?). Well, they’re always on the lookout for a way to get content written so that they don’t have to.
You have a perfect opportunity to ask around and get your content posted on their email newsletter.  Again, this has two really good results.

Firstly, if they send the email out to their list, they sometimes host a copy of the email newsletter on their website – which means that you’re getting a link back to your own website too from theirs – yep – another backlink.

Secondly, it again introduces you to a new range of potential clients who click the link and sign up for your stuff (You send them to a landing page right ?)

So there you have it, some great ideas for creating content and getting it distributed.  Do this, and you’ll start to see your traffic increasing.  I know it can take time, and that’s where we can help you.

Our Inbound Marketin Package does all of the above for you for one low monthly cost.  If you’de like to know more, just contact us.

Firstly, if they send the email out to their list, they sometimes host a copy of the email newsletter on their website – which means that you’re getting a link back to your own website too from theirs – thats tight – another backlink.
Secondly, it again introduces you to a new range of potential clients who click the link and sign up for your stuff (You send them to a landing page right ?)
So there you have it, some great ideas for creating content and getting it distributed.  Do this, and you’ll start to see your traffic increasing.  I know it can take time, and thats where we can help you.

Business Coaching : Writing a book – is it a profit centre or a lead magnet ?

So in a Business Coaching call I had in Leeds recently, my client had his initial Business Coaching call.  He has a book thats been published and has a Kindle version coming out shortly.
When I asked how much the book was being sold for – it was over £10 – when I asked how much for the Kindle – it was going to be about the same price.
So then ensued a conversation as to what the book was for.
Is it a profit centre, or is it a method to get as many people to read it as possible.  You see, when someone reads your book, your ‘placing’ the person in your environment – you’re getting them to think like you are, and during that process the brain is engaged to your way of thinking.
Now if thats the case, then you could use the book as a good ‘lead magnet’ to upselling them to more products or services.
Now the question here of course is … you do have a clear path that the client can follow, one product after another with a clear upsell so that if the client wants to continue their journey with you, then they can.
Many business don’t have a ‘sales ladder’ – they have their big main product and end up trying to sell that straight away, only to wonder why they’re not closing the business.  For some customers, its just too big a jump.
Whereas, if you can sell them your kindle book at £2 or £3 – then they will read that, and then get to know you, and your products or services.  Then they’re beginning to build trust and begin to understand your way of thinking.
At that point, you now start to have a clear path that you can upsell the client to – each step is a process to sell the next step – each product s to build up towards selling your main product.  When you do this, your income also increases, as you now have your ‘starter’ products that people can buy into, and then you end up selling more of your main product anyway.
So the question again is – do you sell your kidnle book for £10 as a profit centre (how many of those do you need to sell to make profit), or do you drop the price to £2 or £3 and start to sell more products between this one and the more expensive main product you have.
Once you have a sales ladder in place, then you’ll have a better idea.
If you havent got a sales ladder in place, then we need to chat – and the Business Booster Coaching Session is a perfect seesion for us to do so.
Not only will you come away with a clear path as to how to move forward, but you will also understgand the steps that can help you get there.  Plus, you’ll know if having a business coach is a great way for you to move forward with your business.

Business Coaching Leeds – what sort of results can you expect ?

When many of my clients sign up, they’re looking for a way to increase their business.  That usually means more customers, or certainly more people visiting the website, or the phone ringing more often.  SO that’s what we concentrate on first.
We’ll look at what traffic mehtods one may have already implemented and then begin to look at more, to increase the number of people going through their ‘sales funnel’.  We may look at Video Marketing for example.
In fact, just this week, during one of our 1 hour coaching sessions, we identified some new keywords that would help drive more traffic to their website.  We agreed that I would go off and create some videos and optimise them to be found.
I created the videos, uploaded them to Youtube, and optimised them.  2 days later, through Facebook, the client posted on my wall that he actually received his first new customer from that video.  This was a paying customer, so the client already began to get a return on investment.
This is of course the first part of the process – the actual reason for doing this video wasn’t to make money straight off the cuff (Which we did anyway as it happens) – but was designed to drive traffic, generate phone calls and create a lifelong customer.  The initial sale was just the beginning of this process.
You see, for many business owners, the sale is the END of the process – and it thats why the business struggles.  So although you may decide that you need more traffic – its not more traffic that will help you grow your business – its what you do with the customer long term.
So what is it you need in your business.  Are you already generating new customers, and if not why not.  Whats topping you from getting more customers?
It may be a lack of knowledge, or it may be a lack of time to implement what you know – in which case you need to get it outsourced.

Our Inbound Marketing Package is a complete that is designed to drive more traffic, get the phone ringing and get some immediate sales.  The way you grow your business is what you do next.

The beauty of using a Business Coach is that you can discuss an idea, and from that idea will spin off several more – then we can look at the best ones, see how quickly we can implement them and start getting almost instant results.  You can then outsource the work, or do it yourself.
If you’re not sure on how to outsource the work, then we’ll discuss that too – it could be something your Business Coach can take on board, or they can discuss the best outsourcing methods.
If you’ve never had a business coach, and wonder how the session is set up – then just give us a quick call and we;ll go through it with you – after your first session, you’ll wonder why you never did it before.  We’ll conduct a quickfire round of business coaching that will help you identify what the best next steps are for you.
Hopefully, we’ll speak soon, and work out the path for your business.

A Quick 6 Step Plan to Achieving Your Goals

Step 1: Have Absolute Written Clarity on Your Vision/Goal/Income – this means you have to write it down, and be absolutely clear about it.

Step 2: Develop the Beliefs and Habits Needed To Achieve It – if the belief systems and habits you have right now will not take you there, change them.

Step 3: Determine the Specialized Knowledge, Skills, Strategies and Tactics Needed To Accomplish Your Goal‐ And The Product, Service or Investment Vehicle – if you haven’t got the specialised knowledge, then get it.  If the product doesn’t exist, then create it.

Step 4: Surround Yourself With A Team To Help You Apply Your Plan – working on your own = failure.  Get the team in place (Sales, SEO, Admin, etc)

Step 5: Take Action Daily towards Your Goal – this means you do it every day – not just once a week.

Step 6: Tweak Your Thoughts and Actions As Often As Possible Till You Develop a System and Process That Repeatedly Works For You – in other words, sensory acuity – if it doesn’t work, change it, and keep changing it until it does work.

Helping your kids get the best start in life …

So, recently, my 2 children have had birthdays – one just turned 5, and the other just turned 8.  At what age do you decide to teach them about money?

Well, between the ages of 0 and 7, children have what we call their ‘imprint period’ – this is where their values are imprinted, their ethics, and how the generally see the world.

From 7 to 14 – it’s called their ‘modelling period’ – a time when they begin to look up to people and start to emulate them.

So for me, this age of 6, 7 and 8 years old is very important, and is a good time to begin to teach them.  But what do you teach them exactly.

Well, you could teach them that they have to work hard, get good grades, get a job and so on.  That’s what I was taught, my dad was self employed and worked a lot of hours, and so you begin to feel that this is what you must do.

However, there is another way, and it is that you can teach them to create an ‘asset’ – something that they buy or create just the once, and it keeps putting money into their pocket long after they have bought it.

That’s exactly what I taught my 8 year old, and my 5 year old was sitting there at the same time.  This is what I told them.

I began to explain that for some people, they have to get up and go to work each day – whenever they aren’t at work, then they don’t get any money.

I then explained that there are some people, like daddy, that get paid regardless of if they get up and go to work, and that’s because I’ve already done the work some time ago, and continue to reap the benefits of doing so.

The method I said, was to buy a house, and then rent it out.  So if daddy has a house that costs £300 per month, but the rent is £500 per month, then I earn £200 per month each and every month.

Then I asked the eldest how much money I would have each month if I had 10 of these houses for example, and she worked it out.

I drew a picture of all of the houses, so that she could see each one, see how much money it brought in for each one.  Once she had worked it all out, I saw her eyes light up and the realisation had slowly begun to sink in.

I then explained the difference between those that got up and worked each day, and those that didn’t was because the house was the asset, but it didn’t have to be.  It could be a website that has people who visit it and buy things, in which case the idea was to drive more and more traffic to it.

I also explained that it could be you wash cars, and get all your friends to wash them whilst you just look after bringing in the income – and that’s how businesses work.

We’ll cover it again as she grows older, and the understanding begins to sink in that little but more – but I already know she is now looking at things slightly differently and now questioning why you go out to work every day.

My aim on this is to get her to the point where she can make her own decision as to what she would like to do when she gets older.

In the meantime, we’re also talking about University, something which she completely discounted just a year ago, and now she has a much bigger interest in going.

As your children transition from the imprint period to the modelling period, it’s important that you send the right messages, and try and ‘expand possibilities’ – that life isn’t set on just going to and from school but that the world is much, much bigger than that.

I want both children to understand that they can choose how to live their lives, and not settle on what they get ‘given’ to them.

Send the right messages, and provide them with support, and they’ll amaze you.

Just a few weeks ago, my eldest came home and got some paper, drew some pictures and cut them into strips and asked me to laminate the strips which I did.

When I asked why she was doing this, her response was that she was going to sell them at school for .25 pence each, and that all the money was going to Great Ormond Street Hospital.  A nice little daddy moment that was, a chip off the old block.

The fact that all the money was then going to charity was an unexpected bonus.  Of course, my partner being a school teacher, was a little bit worried about her selling them at school – I just told her to go do it – until she gets told not to.  There are lots of times when you’re older in life that people say you can’t do something – I got told many times and still do .. I just ignore them also and that’s one of the reasons I get the results I get for both myself and my family.

Teach them, and teach them well, the world is full of opportunity, and people will try and switch them away from it – teach them to go through with their ideas, if they follow everyone else, they’ll just be like everyone else – and that’s not good enough for me.

The kids education begins as a baby, is reinforced by school, but ultimately, its the parent responsibility to continue to teach them, to help and support them – this is what will help make your child more successful, and I know 100% that it’s my duty to do so.

Good luck !

How Business Coaching can change the economy

I’m frustrated.  There – i’ve said it.

If you’re wondering what i’m frustrated at, it’s the state of the economy.  I know we’re in recession, but rather than cutting everything in sight (which I appreciate we HAVE to do as the numbers just don’t stack up) – I believe that some money has to go into helping businesses get their business in order.

What I mean by this is that I see constantly lots of very motivated Business Owners working every hour that they possibly can – unfortunately they’re often working on the wrong thing.

I saw a video on Youtube recently, and it was a video of a very drunk man trying to get up the escalator.  He couldn’t quite make it, regardless of how hard he tried. I mean, this guy was committed, he was trying really, really hard to get up the escalator, but no matter how hard he tried, he just couldn’t get up to where he wanted to be.

The problem you see, was that he was trying to go UP the DOWN escalator.  Im afraid he was so drunk he just couldn’t work it out, no matter how hard he tried.  The video went on like this for at least 5 minutes, and people were laughing at him.

Then, some kind soul pointed him onto the correct escalator that was going in the right direction.  With this little bit of coaching, he soon reached the top.

And this is exactly what’s needed in the UK.  We have a great workforce on the whole, we have business owners working 18 hour days and not quite getting the results they so desperately want.  All it takes is for someone on the outside to take a quick look, realise where they’re going wrong and set them in the right direction.

Many business owners for example, just don’t know how to grow a business, and why should they – they’ve never had to do it before.  They’re not experts in marketing, business growth, social media, seo, or any of that stuff.

They’re not experts in postcard marketing, getting the database in place, getting referrals or feedback to help them grow their business – so why not give them a business coach.

Imagine, if every small business got a n experienced business coach, that could help channel all of that hard work and energy into the right areas.

I don’t mean the business advisors that you get at your local banks by the way – these 22 year old spotty bankers who’ve never ran a business in their lives.  I mean what the hell do they know about running a business?

I mean a Business Coach, someone who is set up as a Full Time Business Coach, someone who has experience and a track record of helping businesses grow.  Just to point them in the right direction – just imagine the results that they would start to get.  More business would get done, more referrals, more income, more tax paid out, more purchases, higher employment, less benefits paid out – it makes perfect sense.

Unfortunately, it’s not going to happen – the government is hell bent on cutting costs to the bone.  So now YOU have to take the bull by the horns and sort it out yourself.  The government isn’t there to help you, its there to cut costs and collect taxes and spend them in the best way it knows how.

It’s up to you to step up, and invest in your business – to work out the best way forward for your business. Why not give me a call, and lets see how we can move your Business Forward.

The Benefits of Business Training

During all my years of Business Coaching, there are a few things that stand out when it comes to a Business Owner growing their business.

The first one is that sometimes, they end up doing the same thing over and over again and hoping to get a different result.  This is crazy (as im sure you’ve heard Einstein state before) – but it does happen over and and over again.

Whats needed is a fresh perspective.  The ability to ‘see the world through new eyes’ is a difficult one, and for that you have to GROW.  But many business owners dont want yo grow, they just want more money or more time off.  Well, it doesnt work like that im sorry to say.

SO what you need to do is to expand the mind, or as we call it in Coaching, Expanding Possibilities.  Getting up and doing the same thing week in and week out will simply get you the same results you got last week – sure you might have a slightly better / or worse week – but ultimately, youre just going to get the same results.

A new perspective can be fairly easy to come by, but you have to go out and find the new information, the new knowledge that can transform not only your business, but also the way you think.

Business Training can provide that new perspective, by providing you with new ideas to implement into your business.  Not only that, but in many Business Training settings, you have an opportunity to speak with different business owners and see what they’re doing in their business.

This can be a superb opportunity to create something new, discover a new way of doing things, that you can implement into your business immediately – but you have to get out there and take the Business Training courses.

Business has changed dramatically over the last few years, and its going to change even faster over the next few years.  The ability to change and adapt is the first key to creating new revenue streams, adding extra services to make more money out of each and every client, to find new methods of servicing customers requirements.

If you don’t do it, then your competitor is doing it – and before long, your business is seeping away into the coffers of your #1 competitor.

So find the training courses – learn how others are implementing what they have learned, adapt, survive and grow – that’s the key.

Take a look at what the business courses are

Things such as

SEO (Search Engine Optimisation)

Sales Training

Social Media Marketing

Time Management

Mindset Training

There are many, many more Business Trainings out there, find the ones that can help you grow your business inline with your business growth plan (You have one of those right?) – you’ll soon start to develop new methods of growing your business, and it will be your competitors that will struggle, not you.

A quick look online can help you find the courses, and they don’t have to be expensive, what you’re looking for is a way to get a fresh new perspective.
